Japanese Postage Stamps are "Miniature Ambassadors Of Culture" (The New Japan (Manchini Newspapers 1958). Postage stamps cover a wide range of objects, including manners and customs, industries, landscapes and various events, epitomizing the state of affairs in a country in wich the are issued. Therefore, postage stamps are often referred to as "symbol of a country's culture"or as the name-card of a country. In Japan, stamps were issued for the first time in 1871. The printing of postage stamps in Japan has been carried out exclusively by the Printing Bureau of the Finance Ministry since it was established in 1871. Foreign countries wich made orders for postage stamps in Japan are: the Ryukyus, the Republic of China, Malaya, the Philippines, Thailand, Viet-Nam, Cambodia, Costa Rica and Burma.

These sets are, by and large, both rare and beautiful. It's not hard to discover mint sets either, particularly from the post 1920s era.Early Japanese stamps were not built to last. Preserving your collection is key to protecting your investment. Stamp collectors may want to purchase specialized storage equipment to stabilize their mint condition and proof set Japanese stamps. After all, trace amounts of chemicals or tough polymers in non-regulation albums can damage hard-to-find Japanese rarities.
