Large display plate, in copper, diameter 56 cm, depicting François-Hercule de Valois, Duke of Anjou and Alençon, the youngest son of king Henry II of France and Catherine de' Medici. It shows the following words: FRANCISCUS HERCULES ALENCONET DEF VALESIUS ANDEG BELGARUM. Today the patina is bronze coloured, but probably it was originally golden. The bas-relief is in good condition, with traces of wear and tear. The edge shows naked human figures (probably representations of rivers or divinities), armours and weapons.
