Altar budsudan with monk and 2 Buddha's - Japan - mid 19th century (late Edo period)
Good condition

A fine nice black laquered home altar ( budsudan) with gilded goldleave inner doors and inside interior . Also part with gold laquer

In front at his tatami mat is sitting the monk Shinran. in the back a Buddha statue of Shaka Nyorai and Taho Nyorai

The Buddha's are just 2,5 cm high ( without mandorla)

Copper decorated hinges ., lock and ornaments at the outside




Condition : in overall good condition. some wear and quit dirt due to incense and butter lamps
loss of laquer. Shinran lost his very little left hand see the pictures as well .

Height 18 cm ( 7 inches)
