"Fight and takeover of Regensburg" also known as the Battle of Regensburg, opposed the French and Austrian troops from 19 to 23 April 1809, a victory that then allowed the French troops to enter Vienna empty of enemies.
Antique print after the painting by Charles THEVENIN (1764-1838) listed on the Inventory of the Historical Gallery of Versailles MV1740, a neoclassical painter known for his heroic and imperial scenes (on exhibit at the Carnavalet Museum, the Château de Versailles and the National Assembly).
Designed by Henri Charles LOEILLOT (1798-18--) and engraved by Pierre Michel ADAM (1799-1853), engraver known for his important listed work, including many Napoleonic subjects.
In very good condition, cradle of the engraving 21x 29 cm, image dimensions 14.5 x 20.5 cm.
