Silk-screen print 59x70 by Ugo Nespolo.
Born in 1941 in Mosso (BI), he graduated at the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin and obtained a degree in Modern Literature.
In the Sixties he moved to New York, where he was captivated by the cosmopolitan life of the metropolis and fascinated by the emerging Pop Art, while in the Seventies he worked in Conceptual art and Arte Povera circles.
His passion for filmmaking is important and it will lead to major retrospectives dedicated to him in important foreign museums (Philadelphia, New York, London, Paris, Cologne, Beijing, Shanghai). Together with Mario Schifano, he founded Cinema degli Artisti, and between 1967 and 1968 he made numerous movies starring his friends and colleagues Enrico Baj, Michelangelo Pistoletto and Lucio Fontana.
