Emile GALLE vase circa 1900 "L'aurore, le départ des pêcheurs" Vase made of multilayer glass with acid-etched decor of boats, shells and marine plants finely engraved in a brown shade with a yellow background.
Condition : no cracks, a very faint air line at the back of the vase starting from the neck all the way down (see photos)

Emile Gallé, was above all a designer, creator and maker of glasswork, ceramics and furniture.

His other activities were: inventor of technical processes, business leader, promoter of the arts and crafts industry in the region of Nancy.
(Created the Association de l’École de Nancy ou Alliance Provinciale des Industries d’Art in 1901)
His areas: glass and ceramics and then woodworking.
His inspiration: nature, Symbolism, Japanese art.
His style: one of the greatest creators of the Art nouveau movement.
