Very nice ichimonji jingasa hat with a slight cone shape.
Made of black lacqered pressed paper, the jingasa is in reasonable conditions with few scratches on the edges as seen in the pictures. The pieces of paper on the back seems to have been sticked over the laquer, it is not a broken part.
Original head pad.
The jingasa (lit. "camp hat") was a type of hat worn by Japanese warriors when traveling or encamped.
Size is around 39x9cm.
Period likely late 19th century.
