Tizio 50 is a table lamp designed by Richard Sapper for Artemide in 1972. The design was nominated in 1979 for the 'Compasso d'oro' Industrial Design Award. This lamp is currently part of a collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a collection at the Museum of Modern Art.
The position of the lamp can be adjusted by moving the counterweight. This lamp was innovative because of the absence of a cable going to the light source. Instead, electricity is fed through the lamp arms (which is not dangerous by the way). Another innovation from this time period was the use of a
