It was designed in 1967 by the architect and designer Ettore Sottsass, in collaboration with Hans Von Klier.
As described by an article published in Domus in 1969 , the typewriter is made of ABS.
QZERTY keyboard layout, typical of Italian typewriters. In addition to the writing keys, the keyboard includes a space bar, two upper-case keys, a shift lock key, the backspace and a tab key.
The writing keys have clear missing parts: there is no key with number 1, that is obtained by using the lower-case letter l (el) or the upper-case I (i); moreover, there is no zero, that is obtained by typing the upper-case O (o). Although this may seem strange today, it was quite common in old typewriters. The keys for upper-case accented vowels, used in Italian writing, are also missing. We guarantee an accurate packaging with tracking number, since it has no case.
