Olivetti Valentine is a typewriter by Olivetti born in 1968 from the project by Ettore Sottsass and Perry A. King. The model was produced the following year, in 1969. In 1970, Sottsass won the Compasso D’Oro award.
In Italy, it is known mainly as the ‘portable red’.
It is one of the greatest icons of industrial design. The importance of the Valentine is underlined by its presence in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York since the early 1970s, by its participation in exhibitions on Italian and international design around the world, by its huge commercial success, as well as by awards it received for the innovative solutions adopted by designers during the construction stage.
The Valentine is part of the permanent collection of the Triennale Design Museum in Milan with a red model and of the Alessandro Pedretti Collection, also in the Triennale Museum.
In the last photos, advertising of that period.
It doesn’t have slipcase, therefore I guarantee solid packaging and tracked shipping.
A true icon of vintage pop art.
