Russian icon of the late nineteenth-early twentieth century.
Novgorod school :
On a wooden base, the Mother of God of Vladimir painted on wood and surrounded by metallic alloy oklad (probably tin or brass).
The writing in Cyrillic appears detailed engraved on the metallic base.
The set rests on a wooden base framed with a small door (kiot), in the style of the old orthodox icons. Has a glass in the door of the wooden box (it will be sold removed the same wooden frame to prevent breakage, as seen in the photos).
The wood, logically, has accused the passage of the years.
The lid or frame is closed with a small metal closure (see photos).
Due to the antiquity of the icon, its conservation status is very good.
