"Ancora", one of the oldest and most important fountain pen companies in the first decades of the 20th century in Italy, founded by Giuseppe Zanini in Sesto Calende, on the shores of Lake Maggiore (1909). Since the 1920s, the company has been producing “Ancora” safety fountain pens and “Rapid” fountain pens, safety pens made with coatings in precious metals, which are now highly sought after by collectors. With this line, in the 1920s and 1930s, some of the most refined and elegant "overlay" works of the era were produced.
