Charles Kvapil was a Czechoslovakian painter, born in Czechoslovakia and not in Antwerp on November 1st 1884, and died in Paris in 19571.
He visited Paris very young and decided to settle there.
This extroverted Flemish, born to exalt good humour and the pleasure of living, left plenty of nudes and realistic landscapes.
Constantly heeled by the need to express himself, he is endowed with painting facilities and great fertility. Warm colours.
Nudes, portraits; still life, animated compositions, landscapes. Pastel, drawings.
Museum: Amsterdam, Paris, Chambéry, Le Havre, Rouen, St Etienne, Tunis.
