A collection of 163 photographs by the photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson documenting Russia under Communism. He boarded a train to Moscow, visas and governmental permission in hand, and took a book's worth of photographs of Soviet people doing ordinary things. He was the first photographer to be allowed to visit Soviet Union before the "détente", these photos "Moscou" published in this book.

Henri Cartier-Bresson was a French humanist photographer considered a master of candid photography, and an early user of 35 mm film. He pioneered the genre of street photography, and viewed photography as capturing a decisive moment.
