Royal Awards - Medailles (5) - Brons
Russisch rijk, Oostenrijk-Hongarije, Engeland, Roemenië - Eind 19e eeuw

The lot is represented by two rare medals of the Russian Empire,Austria-Hungary, England, Romania:

1)Medal-Jetton "To the death of Emperor Alexander-3".
This is a family relic inherited from a friend, whose great-grandfather was a member of the Simbirsk delegation at the funeral of Emperor Alexander III. All participants of the funeral procession were given memorable tokens. On the obverse of the mourning badge, the portrait of the departed emperor and the inscription: "Alexander III the All-Russian Emperor" was struck. On the reverse side are the words: "The world grieves for your demise. Tears are shed by your faithful people. Oct. 20, 1894."
The token is minted in 2 metals - silver and aluminum. As a rule, an aluminum token has a hole for wearing and is considered very rare.
A token is quite rare, so finding information about it (even on numismatic forums) can be very difficult.
