Lot of 2 reliquaries from a monastery
Thailand: 2nd half-end of 20th century.
Terra cotta representation of Buddhas. Tooled silver-plated metal amulet.
These two reliquaries have uncommon terracotta surfaces.
Thai amulets are charms considered to be magic.
They seem to provide protection against danger and misfortune, promise love to those in search of it and favour luck and power.
Most of them are blessed and 'activated' in the temple or monastery where they were made.
