A small but beautiful Viking fibula with original pin. Fibulas were worn by Vikings on the chest or shoulder to close a cloak. This antique piece was made between the 9th and 11th century AD in Scandinavia. The size of this fibula is 2.1 x 2.1 cm. In its currant state (bent), the pin is 2.5 cm long.
Purchased by the current owner from an antique shop and then added to an Austrian collection. The Supplier warrants that he obtained this lot in a legal manner and that it was legally imported into Austria. Provenance statement was seen by Catawiki.
