Folio large sized engraving commissioned by Emma Willughby (the wife of Francis Willughby) for the profound and influential work on Ornithology by William Willughby. Whillughby is seen as the first Ornithologist and reshaped the way how to study the natural world. This engraving marks the birth for everything that came after this influential project by Willughby.

The 17th century engravers on this project where:
William Sherwin, William Faithorne and Frederick ten Hove. It is unknown who made this particular engraving.

- Francis Willughby (22 November 1635 – 3 July 1672) was an English ornithologist and ichthyologist, and an early student of linguistics and games.
