(*) In 1974 Gerhard Richter produced a series of reference works in his compulsive obsession about colour, his famous study made with enamels. Using a colour chart as a tool for systematic approach to the canvas, such as the series "64 colores", "256 colores" and "1024 colores". Each of them consists of 64, 356 and 1024 boxes, respectively, of different colours arranged based on chance, although in a first view it may seem that there is a covert intention. For the mechanism that assigns colours to each frame Richter involved his friend, Blinky Palermo. The work is reminiscent of the neo-Dadaists, the "hard edge" and the abstraction of Ellsworth Kelly and Bruce Conner. The artist's only intervention is the control of the scale of the canvas itself, and the deep meaning. Light and colour as a whole.
