The history of the Maxant House is characterized by mergers with companies with the rich traditions of watchmaking and precision mechanics from the first half of the 19th century.
Closed in 1877, production at 64 rue de Saintonge has been relocated.
Maxant is undoubtedly with the tradition of the initial purchase and marketed from now on is called:
Precision Instruments, Léon Maxant Sr. - 64, rue de Saintonge - Paris, founded in 1824.
The company produced everything that had to do with the pressure or the measurement of the air pressure, namely barometers, manometers, barograph.
In addition, pyrometers, thermometers, thermograph, laboratory equipment, dynamometer, lap counter, naval instruments and much more.
Maxant is known for its variety of recording instruments, while the close contact with the navy allows to show in the logo of the company, an anchor point.
Leon Maxant died in 1936
