Ancient Wraparound Skirt named Kita, from the Akan ethnic group
The Akan are spread between Ivory Coast and Ghana.
This wraparound skirt comes from the Baule ethnic group, exclusively established in Ivory Coast.
The wraparound skirt is woven in a traditional way, with bands of about 10 cm in width, which are then sewn together.
Ancient wraparound skirt of daily wear, that I collected in a Baule village.
All of the wraparound skirts which are offered were worn.
We can sometimes note traces of wear, bands which are partially unstitched, and tints which slightly faded off over the years.
However, the offered wraparound skirts have been selected one by one, with much care and attention.
The pictures are part of the description.
