This is an important book of Roman law by the professor of civil law at Louvain, the Spanish jurist Antonio Perez (1583–1672). This is the first edition. The work is principally concerned with edicts of Emperor Justinian I, Emperor of the East. 527-565. The most resonant aspect of his legacy was the uniform rewriting of Roman law, the Corpus Juris Civilis, which is still the basis of civil law in many modern states: hence the importance of this commentary.
The printing and production are excellent, the work of Daniel Elzevier.
