Gilloutine bread slicer in a lovely sky-blue color
The handle indicates that this is one of the early production of the model '294' around 1950/60s
Painted in a great sky blue colour, wich makes it a real eye-catcher.! The iron has been painted and the wooden board has been restored, but everything is original, and it has no damages or missings. For an 60 years old item, it is great maintained. knife has a minimum signs of use.

262 years ago, in the year of 1758, the King of Denmark (Frederik V) gave a present to his valet (Nicolaj Jessen) for many years of duty.
The king handed him a ownership document to the buildings of a closed gunpowder called "Raadvad dam" and he started a factory producing knife and metal households.
The factory had its glory time in the 1900's - It went extremely popular and world famous.
From around 1950's it was to find in almost all danish kitchens, or household's.
In 2015 after 257 years of production, Raadvad was sold to the company Fiskars in Finland.
This model '294' went world famous.
Even today, this model is the most popular bread slicer ever made. Maybe it's the reason that this design has being essentially unchanged since 1939.
They where out of production for some decades and was re-intruduced in late 1980's to end of the 1990's
