A. Kupetzian was a pupil of the leading Armenian artist, Martiros Sarian (1880-1972).
Koupetzian became famous for his Cubist compositions, known as synthetic cubism, originally invented by Braque and Picasso circa 1910.
After joining this movement in the 1970s, A. Koupetzian was able to enhance it by adding a new depth and new colours never seen before in this style.
His works are widely represented in national exhibitions and museums in Russia, Italy, the USA, the United Kingdom and China.
