A fine Chinese hat stand of hexagonal form with lozenge shaped holes decorated in Qianjiang style enamels. The upper rim and the lower half of the interior unglazed.
The hatstand depicts the legend of the beautiful Xi Shi ( 西施 ) washing by the river surrounded by a group of maidens doing various activities. On the side a calligraphy poem describes the scene along with the artists signature.
Apocryphal Tongzhi in iron red to the base.
Standing ca. 28.5 cm tall and weighing 1420g
Condition - This lot has been thoroughly checked with UV light and is in excellent condition without chips, cracks or repairs. Some firing flaws.
