Ammonites (Ammonoidea subclass) are a group of extinct cephalopod molluscs, which appeared in the Lower Devonian (about 400 million years ago) and became extinct around the Upper Cretaceous-Paleocene period. This beautiful specimen is of the Parkinsonia parkinsoni type, lived in the Middle Jurassic, Bathonian period (about 160 to 170 million years ago).
