Christofle, a commemorative spoon, to hang on wall. It was made to commemorate the production by the goldmaker Christofle of a cutlery set designed by a famous architect and decorator, (Rossigneux), who worked for Napoleon III and who took inspiration from the foot of a lamp that belongs to a Roman treasure found in Germany in 1868. He designed the cutlery set, made in 1870 for the Marquis of Paiva. This spoon has a base to which it is attached so it cannot be used but only hung as a decorative object.
