Dan Mask from Côte d'Ivoire with a prestigious origin.

Classic mask with orbits and openwork which usually charcaterize the ‘Ginyégué’ racing masks and the ‘Zapkei’ fire masks.

Please note that this item features a remarkable elaborate headdress made of fibres similar to the ones of ancient warriors. This particular point could indicate the association of the mask with a more important person. This mask could be associated to a royal person, the ‘Go Ge’.

This mask was sold during the dispersal of the collection of Josette and Théo Schulmann by the auction house Cornette de Saint-Cyr of the 11/06/2019.
