This Punu mask belonged to the famous Claude Vérité fils & Associé gallery, until the death of his father, Pierre Vérité. All African art lovers followed the 2 major sales of the Vérité collection, during which an Ngil Fang mask was sold for 6 million euros. This mask was sold by the Cannes Auction Besch auction house on 04/21/2019 lot 1.
An invoice issued by Claude Vérité on January 12th, 1981 and the illustrated catalogue of the sale of April 21st, 2019 will be included with the mask.
