Ancient African Feminine Figurine/Fetish, "wife from the hereafter” in wood from the Baule ethnic group of Ivory Coast - "Waka-Sona” Fetish (wooden being in Baule) representing a "Blolo Bla” (wife from the hereafter).
The Blolo represents everything of the other side of life; in case an argument occurs between a Baule man and woman, one would blame a mythical spouse from the hereafter of disrupting the household, probably because it is a soul seeking for its memories, couples would regain seduction and peace within the household by consecrating one day a week to this spirit from the hereafter, in order to calm and honour it, to improve the couple's relationship or fertility.
