David Roberts (1796-1864) - Woman basket full of provisions making her way from market
Aquarel - Handgesigneerd - 1830-1850

I am offering for auction a superb 19th Century Ink and watercolour, signed lower right David Roberts. The painting features a woman leaving market her basket full of provisions. There are other people moving around through an old stone archway. He was known for his sketches and watercolours in this style of Continental buildings with the white Gouache highlights. He spent most of his life abroad making long tours to the Holy Land during his life. While cleaning the painting I found the name Roberts written on the reverse see photograph. This is a very impressive painting.

Condition. In fairly good order. Please view all images for condition. Ready to hang.

Postage via UPS

Please note. Frames and glass are delicate and can occassionally take a knock in the post. I wrap paintings very well but you bid on this lot with the understanding that you accept this small risk when bidding.
