The second edition of Neruda's poems written in response to the Civil War in Spain. The first and second editions consisted of 2,000 copies, this edition does not have the illustrations that appeared in the first.

Later modern quarter leather binding on paperback binding. Smooth spine in light brown goatskin, with a black spine label, in gold letters.

The original paperback cover has text in two colours, blue and red, at the centre the flag of the Second Spanish Republic with a sketch of the map of Spain.


Condition: very good, minor scratches on the corners.
Hinges and covers are in good condition.
The first page of the half-title is missing. It only includes the explanatory text on the print run.

Interior: good condition: complete, intact, clean, slight natural foxing of the paper, very slight scratches on the edges.
The original covers are laminated.
