Paul Deschamps (1908 - 1981) was a French draughtsman and sculptor. Originally from La Manche, he is known to have sculpted numerous monuments and medals. He notably created the famous prow head of the atomic submarine "Le Redoutable". This work, which depicts ”A woman in waiting”, was placed in the officer's wardroom of the first French nuclear submarine. It is said that she saddened the crews!
