Wanderer-Werke was a major German manufacturer of bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, tools and office machinery, founded in 1885 in Chemnitz (Germany). The founders of this factory (Winklhofe and Jaenicke) used the name of Wanderer from the translation of the word Rover, which was the brand that the English John Kemp Starley had given to their bikes.
The CONTINENTAL typewriters, which were manufactured until the Second World War by Wanderer-Werke, were the most prestigious typewriters, sold both in Germany and abroad. Moreover, this factory produced the first cars of the prestigious German brand Audi. In the attached photos, you can see the four rings on the front of the cars that are now the symbol of Audi.
With this machine, you’ll experience writing with a glass type keyboard and the sound of the steel bars when they collide with the ribbon and stamp the symbols on the paper.
