A magnificent rare antique Chinese porcelain lidded jar with a central decoration of the eight horses of Wang Mu amidst fiery clouds each horse with a different facial expression, executed in a nice underglaze blue and white. In the border a classical decoration of circle patterns and a floral knob. Handcrafted in ancient China during the Ming dynasty, late Wanli to Tianqi period (early 17th century). Guaranteed original and of the stated period (or earlier, the piece was labeled Longqing).
Diameter: 13,4 centimeter.
Condition: The lid is in very good condition (minor wear), without any damages or restorations. The bottom part with one chipped hairline only, no restorations . The condition is carefully checked with strong UV-light and bright translucent white light.
