Margaret D. H. Keane, née Peggy Doris Hawkins (born in 1927 in Nashville, Tennessee) is an American artist known for her paintings of large-eyed women, children and animals. In the 1960s, her husband, Walter Keane, became prominent by pretending to be the painter of her paintings.
