Edmund Chilmead (1610 – 19 February 1654) was an English writer and translator, who produced both scholarly works and hack-writing. He is also known as a musician
He was a clerical defender of astrology in his translation of Gaffarel.
Theon of Alexandria (c. 335 – c. 405) was a Greek[scholar and mathematician who lived in Alexandria, Egypt. He edited and arranged Euclid's Elements and wrote commentaries on works by Euclid and Ptolemy
Aratus (c. 315 BC – 240) was a Greek didactic poet. His major extant work is his hexameter poem Phenomena. It describes the constellations and other celestial phenomena.
