Magnificent oil on copper depicting the Pieta. 16th century. Spanish School of Flemish influence. Excellent pictorial quality and paint condition, it is not repainted. With highlights to the chromatism of blue, red and white colours. Great profusion of details. The right and bottom sides are deteriorated, without affecting the central image. On the back side in copper was discovered an ancient writing, with the words: “Delconbentodeles piritusan”. The last two letters (faded by the passage of time) are missing, to read “Del Convento del Espíritu Santo”. It has a 19th-century frame. Copper dimensions 22.5 x 17 cm With frame: 28 x 23 cm
