Louis Ellies du Pin or Dupin, born on 17 June 1657 in Paris where he died on 6 June 1719, was a French theologian and historian.
He devoted most of his life to writing the Bibliothèque universelle des auteurs ecclésiastiques, a vast work in which he presents the life of these writers, the catalogue and chronology of their works, a judgement on their style and doctrine, and the enumeration with critical examination of the different editions of their works. The judgements he made in this work on several priests led to his condemnation in Rome and he was also strongly criticised by a number of French theologians, notably Bossuet.
