An exquisite pair of Russian or French girandoles with a mixture of rock crystal and hand cut glass drops, dating circa 1900.
Each girandole features a Carrara marble base resting on three ormolu bronze bun feet; mounted on the bases are solid ormolu bronze stems chiselled and decorated in a pillar form. The pillars issue curved ormolu candle branches to accommodate three lights.
The tops are surmounted by two tiers of delicate rock crystal drops. The main body has slender serpentine scrolls draped and decorated with various rock crystal and hand cut glass drops.
The pieces have been converted to electrical use, however, this must be changed and renewed to modern standards by an electrician.
