Historical note: the Castiglioni brothers designed the ‘Relemme’ lamp inspired by the old and historic RLM lamp that was produced at the time of the arrival of the power line in the Italian countryside (1930s). RLM was then the first and perhaps only modern chandelier on the market as an alternative to the oil skylight. The black and under white enamelled shade had the purpose of illuminating the dining table, and nothing else.
The ‘Relemme’ by Castiglioni is a tribute to memory, minimalist and full of poetry. The model contributed greatly to the success of Flos in the 1960s/1970s.
Externally painted, with electrical system overhauled, it looks as good as new.
No. 2 lamps, in white. Height 15 cm, diameter 38 cm.
