Used by the Ngandu and Saka peoples (group of the western Mongo), established in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Iron blades, partially blackened, the wooden handles are almost entirely covered with red copper. The blade presents a decoration in relief with a central ridge on both sides.
Good condition, with traces of wear, oxidation and antiquity, quite usual for these sorts of weapons.
Both sides of the weapon are in quite similar condition (blade and handle). The nature of the metal indicates that this weapon very likely dates back to the middle of the 20th century.
