Parry Thomas - Driving Babs Set the Land Speed Record on the 28th April 1926 at 171.09 mph at Pendine.
The following year on the 3rd of March Parry Thomas was killed attempting to raise the record at Pendine in Babs.
Babs was buried where she crashed in the sand and laid there until 1967 when Owen Wyn Owen decided to excavate the car from the sand and restore Babs to her former glory, she is now on display at the Pendine Museum of Speed and has run at the Goodwood Festival of Speed several times.
