158 drawings engraved on wood after Gustave Doré, including a frontispiece, a vignette on the title page, 31 full page plates and 125 in text vignettes. Foreword by Théophile Gautier.
Red and gold full long grained percaline publisher’s paperboard binding. Smooth spine adorned with a large special plate with hunting trophies and coat of arms. A large composition depicting the coat of arms of Baron Munchausen on the front cover. There is a greyhound on the back cover.

The spine of the work has been restored. Some scattered spots of foxing are to be noted. Nonetheless, a nice copy.
