Description: the mask was cast using the lost-wax-technique so every piece is unique in its kind. On the top part of the mask, there are three tribe´s men representing the village´s eldermen.
Ethnic group: The Dogon people live in Mali, Westafrica, in the Bandiagara cliffs. They are known for their villages which are built high in the cliffs, and their rich cultural heritage. Agriculture plays an important role in the Dogon society. So many objects used in the agricultural process, especially containers and huts for the harvest, are richly decorated. Another pillar of the Dogon society is their appreciation for wisdom and their ancestors.
