ABOUT Chico Freeman (born Earl Lavon Freeman Jr.; July 17, 1949) is a modern jazz tenor saxophonist and trumpeter and son of jazz saxophonist Von Freeman. He began recording as lead musician in 1976 with Morning Prayer, won the New York Jazz Award in 1979 and earned the Stereo Review Record of the Year in 1981 for his album The Outside Within, also offered within this auction lot (A release on Indian Navigation).
IN THIS LOT There's five albums, all as high quality pressings.
All vinyl comes in a clean and shiny condition.
They were part of a large record collection and have not often been played.
The albums include:
- "Tangents", a 1983 German release with Bobby McFerrin. Sleeve in VG+, vinyl EX+.
- "The Outisde Within", album that earned the Stereo Review Record of the Year in 1981. US release, sleeve VG+, vinyl EX/NM.
- "Beyond the Rain", 1978 U.S. release. Sleeve in VG+, vinyl EX/NM.
- "Tradition in Transition", 1982 German release, sleeve in VG+, vinyl EX/NM.
- "Peaceful heart, Gentle spirit". U.S. 1980 release. Sleeve in VG+, vinyl EX/NM.
