Original 19th century brass loupe by wellknown lensmaker Ross, London (signed) ! For plate cameras, from around 1875. Made for focusing on the ground glass in wetplate photography and an original accessory from the earliest days of photography. Adjustable for different eye strengths by screwing up or down. Lens parts clear, clean and scratch-free. Largest pull-out 8 cm. Used, lots of patina, comes with old chamois leather pouche.
