408 numbered pages and more than 200 sweet-size engravings including a map of the Mediterranean.
This book recounts Le Brun's journey to the Levant. He comments on his journey, which is embellished with engravings taken on the spot during his journey.
This book was part of a collection of old books on travel, some of them in the time of Louis XIV.
The cover is complete but worn.
Some engravings are fragile folding pages, some have small tears, but all are complete and in their place.
The engravings on the cities of Syria today, including Palmyra and Aleppo are a testimony to the recent destruction by DAECH.
