Ferrara, presso Giulio Cefare Cagnacini & Fratelli, 1586, volume in 8vo, coeval full parchment binding, label with golden titles and friezes on the spine, cc. (8)-107-(1) numbered on the front, woodcut typographic brand (a salamander crowned in flames with the motto: "Illaesa Extinguo") to the title page and the last sheet, woodcut headpieces and drop caps. Bookplate “Loris Premuda” on the front plate. Published simultaneously in Venice, Ferrara and Piacenza; it covers various forms of psychological illness over the centuries. Examples of historical figures refer to different forms of psychoses. Interesting separate descriptions, for identical diseases, provided for women. The book notes that even though the symptoms are similar, if not the same, women throughout history have had less hope of being treated.
