Architectuur, Astronomie, Natuurkunde, Wetenschap (algemeen), Wiskunde - Aantal: 1 - Boek

Profusely illustrated with woodcuts.
In octavo, 15 x 11 cm, modern leather binding with gold decorations.
Lyon: Apud Gryphivum, 1531
An exceptional copy, with hundreds of engraved plates of Ringelberg's collected works:
Perspective, astronomy, architecture, mathematics, geometry, etc ... The compendium from p. 515 to p. 570 (60 pages) was not originally included in the binding.
It has a damp halo on the first 30 cards that does not affect the text, title page restored in the past, with slightly thinned paper and handwritten ownership note.
627 pages out of 687.
Joachim Sterck van Ringelberg (1499-1531) was a traveling scholar from Antwerp who lectured throughout Europe on almost every conceivable subject.
This compendium covers all of his encyclopedic interests, ranging from science, mathematics, and astronomy to Greek grammar and the occult arts (due to which the book was included in the Index of Forbidden Books).
The perspective illustrations inspired by the works of Viator and Rodler are particularly beautiful.
